Demerits of Extended Auto-Warranty

With time proceeding, the growing popularity in the sale of extended auto-warranty proves that people no longer cope with the change of society and modern trends without the help of cars with extended auto-warranty programs. To ensure that a man’s dream car is kept intact and warded off any damage and technical faults, one should feel the magnitude of its importance.

There is no denying the fact that there are two sorts of warranties or service contracts in the market which enable a customer to get benefits of service and maintenance of the covered part of his car at the time of emergency.  One warranty being issued by manufacturers and the other contract given by other independent warranty companies. First contract is called auto-warranty which is given by seller with new cars and the other is called extended auto-warranty given by other separate warranty companies on the expiry of auto-warranty. 

However, in spite of having a number of merits, there are certain drawbacks which hamper the easy flow of service. First obstacle is the lack of practical knowledge of car users regarding the purpose of the contract. Their careless attitude to read the whole content of the warranty can put them at risk when they will be denied proper repairing facility and benefits. Without paying heed to the main terms and conditions written in the contract, they believe that every facility will be given as mentioned in the contract. But unfortunately, there are some companies which usually exclude their liability in many ways just to snatch money without providing better service.

 To steer clear of all hazards and risk factors, a buyer should examine thoroughly whether all information is written in document. There are several sections in the written contract and if there is any thing left out of context it may be taken as a bad contract because a good contract is informative and complete. The original contract must have following sections such as definitions, terms and conditions, coverage, filing a claim, service department guide lines, cancellation procedures and exclusion. So before making any contract, buyers should go through the each item carefully to avoid future problem. One thing is important to note that without depending on the verdict and advice of sales representatives, it is up to the persons to take proper measures in the matter of purchasing the contract. It is amply explicit just like broad day light that a momentary lapse of concentration can bring anyone on the verge of financial loss and failure.

Lastly, so far as the authenticity of the contract is concerned, one must read the definition section. In some contracts it reads ‘failure’ but in some cases it read ‘mechanical breakdown’. Broad extended auto warranty gets the term ‘failure’ hinting at the total wear and tear coverage just like it states as “a failure will be deemed to have occurred when a covered part has worn beyond the manufacturer’s tolerance’. To end it can be admitted that some companies exclude that failure coverage item and some prefer to offer failure coverage up to 50,000 miles.
